Join the Advance Party: A Call for Volunteers

This July, a small team will head to Costa Rica to begin building something powerful:

FOB Pura Vida — a veteran-led permaculture retreat center where service, healing, and community will take root.

This is not a vacation. It's a mission.

We are seeking self-funded volunteers to join us July 14–August 1.

Veterans and purpose-driven allies are welcome.

Who We're Looking For:

• Veterans, peer support specialists, and allies with mission-driven mindsets

• People comfortable with rustic conditions (shared rooms, cold showers, jungle heat)

• Individuals with experience or passion for permaculture, community service, construction, or storytelling

What You’ll Do:

• Expand our permaculture food forest

• Maintain trails to a remote waterfall

• Build composting toilets and basic infrastructure

• Share meals with host families

• Live simply, work hard, and help us shape a retreat that will save lives

What’s Covered:

• Lodging: Free with a local host family

• Meals & Support: ~$24/day for food, laundry, and support

• Travel: Self-funded (unless you have a generous sponsor or rich uncle)

Why It Matters:

FOB Pura Vida will be more than just a beautiful place.

It will be a safe haven for veterans who have served their communities and now need a place to rest, reconnect, and rediscover purpose through nature and peer support.

This July’s Advance Party is our first step.

You’ll be helping build the literal and spiritual foundation of a place where veterans can heal and grow.
